Last week we traveled to Maui, Hawaii sans kids =) Let me tell you, our experience was very different this time around. The last time we were in Maui was for my sister-in-law’s wedding and Wyatt (now 5 years old) was only 18 months back then. He did not appreciate the 7-hour flight, shocking, right? He pretty much cried the whole time on the plane and I found myself imaging what jumping out of an airplane without a parachute would feel like. I was in a different state of mind. Don’t get me wrong, the trip was fantastic and gorgeous and every beautiful adjective I could possibly name here, but taking littles on a trip like this, is no easy task.
This recent trip was partially a “work trip” for my husband, Sean…but not really, well sort off, but not really.
We stayed at the newly renovated Marriott Wailea Beach Resort in Maui. The views were gorgeous and the pools were with the most beautiful views.
We spent most of our trip being lazy, indulging in all things not good for us and drinking one or two too many umbrella drinks. What is it about a vacation that makes you want to consume all of your calories in sugary alcoholic liquids? Never would I order a drink like that back home, but in Maui…give me 10, please! Like, why?
There were a lot of Sean’s co-workers on this trip so it was fun to have people to hang out with by the pool and at night. I thought I would take a lot more pictures, but I guess I was too busy having fun. I did post a link above to our resort if you wanted to take a gander.
This darling crochet swimsuit coverup was the best find. It’s super light and airy and made out of cotton. The detail is beautiful and the best part? It is super cheap.
Seriously, the best drinks!
We had such a fun trip, but I missed our boys. Thankfully we got back by Friday afternoon so we had all weekend to recuperate and hang out with them.
Happy weekend! My little guy is turning the big 3 on Sunday. I can’t believe it. He’s supposed to be my baby.
