This was my first time at Omaha Fashion Week. I have wanted to go for a long time, but never really had a good opportunity. The event ran from August 22-27.
The quote below was taken from the website of Omaha Fashion Week.
Omaha Fashion Week is celebrating nine years in 2016! During that time, we’ve grown into the nation’s fifth largest fashion event, supporting more independent fashion designers than any other organization in the region. Omaha Fashion Week is a glamorous red carpet event for a good cause. We nurture the youngest of fashion designers by providing mentoring, education opportunities, and a professional platform to showcase their work.
I decided to apply for a press pass, and by golly, I got tickets to all 6 days. That was really exciting news! Unfortunately, going six days in a row was not attainable for me for multiple reasons…being a mom was the biggest one.
I decided to head on down Monday night. I thought what better way than to see it kick off on the first night.
The red carpet at the front entrance was a very nice touch. I couldn’t pass up a picture.
I then moseyed on inside and checked in at the front. The decorations were gorgeous, the lights were beautifully lit and everything looked very well put together. I tracked down the bar and got myself a nice glass of cabernet. I then decided to go walk around and check out the vendors prior to finding my seat.
*I apologize for the picture quality in some of the photos, I took these with my phone. I didn’t think a giant DSLR hanging around my neck would make for a beautiful statement necklace. My runway shots didn’t turn out very good, so unfortunately, I had to leave those out.

I had recently joined a blogging group, Fashion Influencers of Omaha which is essentially a platform for local bloggers, boutiques, stylists, and photographers and provides a networking platform as well as opportunities in collaborating with one another. It also helps connect brands with influencers in Omaha. Just search for Fashion Influencers of Omaha on Facebook to view this group.
A few of us bloggers decided to go Thursday night and do a little meet and greet before heading off to the fashion show. It was so much fun meeting all the lovely ladies who share similar interests and goals.
The best part about Omaha Fashion Week is that they truly do a great job of making each night different. So if you wanted to go to all of the shows, there is something unique that they had to offer each night.
Of course, who can pass up another red carpet photo opp…
The lovely ladies who are also local bloggers, business women, and entrepreneurs were so much fun to meet. I linked their info below.
The New York Fashion week is underway and maybe in the future, I will get to experience it. I am definitely looking forward in attending next years event.
Have any of you been to a fashion show event? What did you think about it?
