Winter is a time to layer, layer and layer some more. The more layers the better. I am also the type that gets cold very easily, so I really love big comfy sweaters, scarfs and anything I can wrap myself in.
I am sharing some of my top favorite pieces for the cold winter months that I have been loving.
– GAP girlfriend jeans – I have really been a big fan of jeans on the more comfortable side, ones that are not too tight and have a slouchier fit. These have been my go-to pair as of late.
– North Face Nuptse 2 Vest – I love throwing this over anything that I am wearing, if the weather permits itself. Unfortunately, it has been very cold lately so I haven’t had a chance to wear it, but once the weather warms up, it’s a good quick solution and it’s super lightweight.
– Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit – This is a super comfortable shoe because it feels like you are wearing socks. They are closer to the ground than the 5.0 and are more lightweight. I wouldn’t wear these in the snow because your feet will freeze and the material will soak through, but if you are planning on being indoors most of the day, these are extremely comfortable.
– Toms Suede Desert Wedges – I absolutely love these! I also have a black pair and wear them all the time. The wedge is so soft because it is a rubber sole so it provides the right amount of cushion for your feet. I could walk in these all day and my feet would not hurt.
– Over-sized Basic Tees – This is something I have been throwing on when I am in a rush, lounging around at home or even going out to run some errands. I usually go for more neutral colors and if I want a little pop of color, I’ll add a statement necklace or a large comfy scarf. I love how something so simple can really jazz up your outfit.
– Large Comfy Scarf – As I mentioned above, this is a great quick fix to a basic tee or any shirt for that matter when you need to add a pop of color. I have a lot of different scarfs that I rotate to keep things interesting, not to mention the extra warmth they provide. I bought mine from a local boutique, but there are so many websites that have very similar versions.
– Dainty Necklace – I love a nice gold dainty necklace because they are so low maintenance. I throw one on and wear it for days on end without having to take it off. It’s also a great layering piece. I love an occasional statement necklace, but they can sometimes feel heavy and uncomfortable. This one is a Stella and Dot necklace and it looks great with everything!
– Big Slouchy Cardigan / Sweater – This is another look that can be thrown on really quick. The one shown is from Express and I have worn it way too many times already. It’s super thick and does a really good job of keeping you warm during cold winter months.
– GAP Three-in-one parka jacket – I sort of have a love/hate relationship with this coat. I love the way it looks, it keeps me warm and it goes with everything…dressy or casual outfits. The part I don’t like, is the zipper. It can sometimes take me 5 minutes to zip up the dang thing. The zipper quality is CRAP! If you can get over that fact, the coat is great.
